Oral-B Pulsonic Sonic Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush

Oral-B Pulsonic Sonic Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush Review

I've been using electric toothbrushes for years, but this is the first time I swayed from the basic models such as Oral-B Vitality Precision Clean Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush. After years I finally decided to make an upgrade to a sonic one, and Pulsonic became an obvious choice.

Initially I wasn't very used to the larger brush size, but it never became a problem. The design of the brush makes it easy to reach everywhere. Since the brush now only vibrate, I need to put in more motion than before, but once again I got used to it pretty fast. I'm not very sure my teeth are now whiter than before, but I do feel like it's now less likely to have anything "grows" on my teeth a while after brushing. I guess it does clean my teeth better than the basic models.

I charged the brush once, then used it for three weeks without noticing any difference, unlike those mechanically rotating cups that the rotation power changes with time observably. It might be nicer if Oral-B puts on an indicator to show the battery level, since it's very unclear to me that how I should notice the low battery status without running out of power. To be fair I haven't tried to see what happens if I just keep using it without recharging it (so far I recharged it once after the initial charge).

I saw a lot of complaints about the robustness of some plastic parts. While I was using the basic models, I remember that I'm supposed to only lightly touch the brush onto my teeth, yet from the aging of the brushes I realized that I pressed it too hard most of the time. Given that as a reference, I didn't find any part that i too fragile. I know a lot of people brush their teeth too forcefully, my mom being one of them. It's true that the brush doesn't feel like steel, but my gut feeling is that you probably don't need to press it so hard against your teeth anyway. I don't think any plastic part in this brush is less robust than your gums, or maybe I'm lucky to receive a better one, which I found more unlikely.

Overall I like this new brush, though it might be better if Oral-B puts in an indicator for battery.

Feels "dentist" clean. - Terri Shoberg - Mpls., MN
I was skeptical about the sonic toothbrushes. My son loves his. When I asked my dentist, he said getting used to the vibration might take a bit of doing but otherwise he feels the cleaning is superior to brushing. I tried this one because the handle is slim, the charger is small & the reviews said the vibration wasn't quite as strong as the more expensive one. Also, there are 2 settings. I tried it, I use it twice a day, & I like it very much!

Love it - Ryan Sullivan - Tempe, AZ
I've had this toothbrush for a few months now and I am stil loving it. My girlfriend got a more expensive electric toothbrush and she is jealous of mine now because mine is so sleek and compact and my battery stays charged for at least a week when hers lasts a day or so before it's dead.

Great Toothbrush But May Last Only a Year - S. Lee - Fremont,CA
This is the 2nd one that I had purchased online. The first one was purchased a year ago and it just stopped working. I bought another one and it looks great and does a good job cleaning your teeth. It leaves you with that "just came from the dentist's office teeth cleaning feeling."

I hope this one lasts longer that a year.

I would give the product 5 stars if I knew it would last more than a year.
