Philips Sonicare Essence e5500 Power Toothbrush

Philips Sonicare Essence e5500 Power Toothbrush Review

This brush has been the best ever since it first became available. The original version did not have a timer. The timer on this is a bit annoying and they should either remove it or put continuous as a default setting. The company is ignorant because it does not seem to know what scrubbing means. The timer is equivalent to telling a surgeon to stop scrubbing after two minutes. Scrubbing reduces bacterial count quite a bit but only if one scrubs all soft areas for minimum of 5 minutes including tongue, back of the mouth etc.

Sonicare again! - K. Cobb - Shreveport, LA, US
I have used a Sonicare power toothbrush for a number of years, & plan to always use one!

A whole new brushing experience - master carpenter - ma
I rarely rate things like this but I have been amazed. My husband bought two of these and after he started using it, he insisted that I try the Sonicare. Wow - my teeth feel dentist-fresh every day. I went traveling and decided to bring my old toothbrush - I actually missed my Sonicare. I would highly recommend this toothbrush. Far superior to a regular electric toothbrush.

Buy a Different Design - Lady At The Lake -
We bought this in November and have had mold issues within the brushhead mechanism. We have cleaned it, even soaked it in bleach but it's a PIA to continue to try to cope with the design flaw. Additionally, it is true that the handset is very difficult to keep clean and collects water and toothpaste residue. Even the threads around the outside of the handle are difficult to keep clean. We will be looking at either Oral B - Pulsonic, or another SoniCare with the pin-type brush head attachment.

Sonicare toothbrush - D. Fosbrook - Pennsylvania
The toothbrush was exactly as described and shipped to me quickly. It arrived before the listed ship date.
